Taking off to a brighter future

Explorations in Ukrainian language and culture

Learning as resistance

Learning more about Ukrainian language and culture is a way how outsiders and foreigners can provide some moral support to Ukraine and the Ukrainians. This blog began as an idea within a language course in basic Ukrainian.

Mriya (мрія in Ukrainian) means dream. Mriya was also the name of the giant Ukrainian airplane Antonov An-225, which was destroyed at the Hostomel airport in 2022. Let’s hope that our dreams of a better future will rise like a giant Mriya Phoenix.
